A major milestone in our mission to lead New Zealand’s cleaning industry towards a sustainable future
Auckland, 16 July 2025 – Clean Planet, New Zealand’s nationwide leader in eco-conscious cleaning and property services, proudly announces that its Auckland Head Office is now officially Toitū Net Carbon Zero certified.
This certification, awarded under the globally recognised ISO 14064-1 standard – the international benchmark for measuring and managing carbon emissions, marks a significant step in Clean Planet’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and leading by example within the cleaning and property services sector. It gives our customers confidence that our sustainability claims are transparent, verified, and built on globally trusted standards.
“This is more than a badge, it’s a promise,” said Tony Pattison, Chief Executive of Clean Planet. “We’re committed to walking the talk when it comes to sustainability. Being Toitū Net Carbon Zero certified reinforces our ongoing mission to leave a lighter footprint and create healthier environments for all New Zealanders.”
Progressing Our Mission for a Cleaner Tomorrow
The certification applies specifically to Clean Planet’s Auckland Head Office operations, which have undergone rigorous assessment and achieved net zero carbon emissions through verified emissions reductions and offsets. This milestone supports the company’s broader vision of building a zero-waste, zero-carbon future across all operations.
It adds to a growing list of sustainability initiatives across the Clean Planet network, including:
- Sustainable Packaging Programme – reuse and recycling of cleaning product containers across the franchise network.
- BioGro Certified Organic Products – safe, natural cleaning solutions with zero harmful chemicals.
- Sensitive Choice Accreditation – certified safe for asthma and allergy sufferers.
- Street Clean-Up Initiatives – supporting communities and local councils in creating cleaner, healthier public spaces.
- Sustainable Business Network Member – ongoing partnership to shape a more sustainable Aotearoa.
With every initiative, Clean Planet continues to prove that doing good for the planet also means doing right by people: today and for generations to come.
Where Your Wellbeing Meets Our Purpose
As customers across New Zealand become increasingly conscious of environmental responsibility, Clean Planet’s leadership in sustainability is helping reshape the industry standard. For our customers, this certification means more than just a label. It’s reassurance that when they choose Clean Planet, they’re choosing a provider who actively reduces its environmental impact and prioritises long-term wellbeing of people and planet alike.
“Our clients and franchise partners trust us to do the right thing, not just for their spaces, but for the planet,” added Pattison. “This certification shows we’re not only meeting that expectation, but striving to exceed it.”
Together for a Healthier, Greener Future
Clean Planet’s Toitū Net Carbon Zero certification is not an endpoint, it’s a foundation to build on. As we look to the future, our focus remains clear: making every decision, big or small, with people, planet, and purpose in mind. Whether it’s through the services we deliver or the systems we improve, we’re committed to growing a business that’s good for New Zealand and generations to come.
“This is just the beginning,” said Pattison. “Every action counts, and every step forward brings us closer to a cleaner, healthier New Zealand.”
