Trash to Treasure: Cain Road Street Clean Up

Clean Planet’s recycling efforts to make a positive impact on the environment.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Clean Planet does. As a leading health and wellbeing-focused facilities and property services provider, we know that greener service solutions are better for people and the environment.

Alongside delivering sustainable solution services, we make sure to give back to our community. Every quarter we conduct a Street Clean-up of Cain Road, Clean Planet’s business resident street in Penrose, Auckland. From plastics to organic waste, we collected around ten bags (60 litres each) of rubbish from the street to recycle.

Some of our neighbouring businesses again joined us in the most recent street clean up. We thank all participants from DHL, Real World Living and Life Health Care for participating in the street clean-up and helping have a better, cleaner community for all of us. We also had our Auckland Car Valet Master Regional Franchise owner Acintha Karu joining us in the street clean-up this year. We are glad that our head office team, franchise and regional owners understand Clean Planet’s commitment to sustainability and a healthier environment and took time off to help achieve the goal of our company as a whole.

In 2008, organic farmer and pioneer of sustainability in business Mark Houghton Brown, who has pushed the health of the planet for decades, wanted to see the cleaning industry clean up its act, which while being essential an essential industry, in those days also highly destructive to human health and the environment. He help found Clean Planet and set us on our path. Starting Clean Planet was to turn the industry around and show there was another way of doing things.

Over a decade and a half we have been committed to the health and well-being of our customers as well as our community. Street Clean-up is one of our active programmes while advocating sustainability.
