5 Home Cleaning tasks to tackle during this lockdown
Government shutdown in full effect, you might be wondering what you can do on the home front to keep your house clean. Here is 5 Home Cleaning task. Now that New Zealand has moved to Covid-19 Alert Level 4, most of us will be spending their time at home. Unless you work for an essential business, you’re likely working from home.
Work aside, the most important thing today is your health. We’ve put together a list of things you may need to clean (and sanitise) to help you stay well and fill some of that isolation time.
Some of these things may have been on your bucket list for a while and some of them have become important as a result of the coronavirus.
Here are the cleaning tasks you can do while at home, utilizing this time more efficiently for the wellbeing of you and your love ones.
1. Touchpoints:
Clean areas that are touched often such as door handles, light switches and toilets. Your aim is to sanitise these areas too, use alcohol (over 60%), hydrogen peroxide or chlorine solution to prevent viruses and germs from spreading.
2. Clean your phone and earphones
According to Business Insider, we touch our phone 2,617 times every day. Since you touch the phone so often, it’s extremely important to keep it clean to avoid transferring the germs from one place to another. An easy way to clean your phone is to spray and wipe it with alcohol, paying special attention to the touch screen and buttons.
3. Clean your oven
You may find yourself using your oven more often during the lock-down period, but when was the last time you gave it a detailed clean? Old grease and food may be taking shelter in your oven. Use this time to clean it properly and try giving it a quick clean after every use.
4. Clean the walls
Spend some time inspecting your walls. Some areas get touched, rubbed and bumped more than others. Look for the cobwebs, crayon marks, dirt and stains that may have gathered there and become part of the decor. Cleaning them will brighten up your home.
5. Clean the ledges
When we at Clean Planet compose cleaning specifications for our clients, we always include dusting and damp wiping ledges. This is because it’s a location that likes to collect dust and is often overlooked. You’re spending more time in the house now, don’t let that old dust negatively affect your breathing!
Conclusion:
Spend some time showing your home some love. Choose a cleaning task every week and knock it out. Look after the health of you and your loved ones. Healthy Home, Healthy You!
